Ming hin has been one of our staples for dim sum cravings. They have a great selection of dim sum choices and you'll never get bored with their flavors and options. The service is fast sufficient, food has always been on point. My favorite is the beef meat balls with the dark sauce on the side, shrimp or beef crepes, fried taro, sticky rice, shrimp with chives dumplings, and their congees! The restaurant itself can be super loud cause it's always so crowded in a huge space.

Ate here today with my parents and sister to try this place out for brunch. We had definitely brought different kinds of food to share together to at least satisfy our taste. It was definitely great and delicious. The service there was also attentive. Finally, I will come back again next time when I visit Chicago.

MingHin is my go-to dim sum place in Chicago. I would skip the MingHin locations outside of Chinatown since the options are not nearly as vast, good, or fresh. I came here with a group of 5 this past Sunday morning at around 10:30. We ordered a bunch of dim sum basics and enjoyed most of it! I definitely would recommend the siu mai, chicken feet, har gow, shrimp rice crepes, sesame balls, and steamed pork & taro! The ones we got were really fresh. The egg custard buns were good, but the yolk wasn't the lava texture I imagined (more like a paste instead). If you want to splurge, definitely get the stir-fried pea sheets with garlic. The ones we got were super fresh and had a lot of "wok hay" flavor. You also can't go wrong with the beef chow fun. I didn't really like the egg tart that much since the puff pastry was soggy and the custard itself was pretty boring. The steamed roasted pork bun also had a weird taste to it. Other than that, great experience. We got our food pretty quickly and I'd recommend making a reservation in advance so you for sure will have a table. It gets really busy on the weekends!

I dined at MingHin Cuisine on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 10:30 am. I think MingHin offers a clean dim sum dining experience that many of those typical Chinese restaurants in Chinatowns across the United States lack. As a lover of Chinese cuisine and dim sum, I highly recommend MingHin if you're looking for a dim sum restaurant in Chicago. Their menu is massive! The food here not only tasted fresh and tasty, but also very HOT! Many dim sum restaurants push the dim sum carts around to each table, which I think is the traditional and fun experience of eating at a dim sum restaurant. But many times, the food that comes to the table is room temperature or lukewarm at best. At MingHin, you do not have to worry about the food being cold because the food is ordered ahead of time by marking checkboxes on a paper menu. So the only carts you'll be waiting for are the ones that have exactly the plates you ordered. I ordered the har gow, which is one of my favorites. Simple shrimp dumpling that didn't fall apart when picked up. The barbecued pork was flavorful and moist. Beef chow fun was average that could use some more of the char. The chili oil cucumber was light and complemented the other dishes well. Service could be better. It took a long time for the server to come to our table to take our order and to come back and get the bill. However the food was decent enough that I think was worth the wait.
